A Vote For 'Ozzy' Is A Vote For Farmington PD's Canine Division
Farmington police are hoping the community will help them get a $15,000 K9 Grant to support its canine unit.

FARMINGTON, CT — For the next week, the Farmington Police Department wants folks to vote for "Ozzy" as part of a campaign to garner funding from a national trauma cleaning and biohazard firm.
Farmington is hoping to get a $15,000 Aftermath K9 Grant for the northeast region of the U.S.
It is competing against several other regional police departments, departments with a canine unit.

There are several classifications eligible for the grant based on the populations served by the departments.
Aftermath is a specialty cleaning firm often utilized by law enforcement to clean up situations such as post-trauma events and biohazard issues.

It is a national company that has Connecticut offices in East Hartford and Middletown.
The grant is part of partnership with law enforcement agencies to provide funding to help police departments purchase supplies for their police dogs, training aids, safety products and protective gear for the animal heroes.
"Ozzy" is described as the Farmington Police Department's "furr-avorite police pup."
Voting is online and folks can choosed "Ozzy" from Monday, Oct. 24 through Monday, Oct. 31.
People are being asked to vote often to try and get Farmington the grant.
Each entry from a police department includes a name and address for the department, along with a photo of the dog.
