📰 News we're reading

• Farmington Roadway To Close For 2 Days For Roadwork (patch.com) — Farmington drivers are being warned that Highwood Road will be closed to through traffic today and Friday during daytime hours for pavement milling work. The town explains that milling removes damaged asphalt and prepares the road for resurfacing, improving cracks and ruts while allowing the material to be recycled. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes while the project is underway.

• Developer plans 83-unit affordable housing complex in CT suburb (courant.com) — A Farmington-based developer, Metro Realty, is expanding its model of mixed affordable and supportive housing, including recent and upcoming projects in Farmington, while proposing an 83-unit complex in Wallingford under Connecticut's 8-30g law. The plan, praised by housing advocates but opposed by some neighbors, would reserve 80% of units as affordable and 18 as supportive housing, with a key zoning meeting set for Sept. 14.
