• Connecticut high school boys cross country top performances through Sept. 23 (greenwichtime.com) — Several of Connecticut's top boys cross country runners just posted standout times at the Winding Trails Invitational in Farmington, putting the town's trails at the center of the state's running scene. Performances in the small-, medium-, and large-school divisions showcased rising talent from schools across Connecticut, alongside other strong results from invitationals in Cromwell, Wilton, Somers, and Durham.
   

• Westfarms Mall Encourages High School Seniors To Apply For Special Scholarship (patch.com) — High school seniors in the Farmington area can apply for a $1,000 Westfarms Mall scholarship usable for college, trade, or vocational programs, with applications due Feb. 12, 2027. Eligible students must live and attend school in a Simon community, show financial need and academic promise, and plan full-time postsecondary study, with a chance at renewable national awards.
   

• In coastal towns, (and in CT) the Nor'easter upended wedding plans (courant.com) — A Farmington couple had to move their planned outdoor wedding indoors this weekend, worried a nor'easter's winds could topple tents and garden structures. Their experience mirrors dozens of disrupted ceremonies across New England, as coastal and island venues scrambled to relocate celebrations amid ferry cancellations, flooding concerns, and strong gusts.
