Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

As a resident, parent, business owner, and volunteer, I am running for Town Council to preserve and expand the remarkably high quality of life we enjoy here in Farmington & Unionville. In 2022, I retired from a 43-year career as a regulatory accounting analyst with Northeast Utilities. Since 2005, my husband and I have owned and operated Farmington Jewelers in Unionville, where we’ve treasured the opportunity to build close relationships with so many of our fellow residents. I spent a decade as a member (and former president) of The Farmington Community Chest and the Unionville Improvement Association. As a member of the Town Council, I will work with anyone who shares a desire to strike the appropriate balance between low taxes, wonderful schools and the excellent services that we cherish – those things that brought many of us to this town and keep us here.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Taxes and Town Budget. I share the desire to strike the appropriate balance between low taxes, wonderful schools and the excellent services that we cherish to keep those things that brought many of us to this town and keep us here.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

My husband and I have had a business in town for many years and we hear the concerns of our customers, especially the elderly. I have been a member and president of the Farmington Community Chest for 9 years and am familiar with many of the town services as well as supporting our fire and police departments. I have a solid financial background in running a small business as well as working as a Regulatory Analyst for Eversource. I have also volunteered on several smaller boards in town for over 15 years.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

I am not challenging an incumbent

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Completing our new high school and the repurposing of the 1928 building. Improving our town infrastructure and connectivity. I want to support the services in our town to keep them strong and support the growth of our town.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I feel that my career with a large corporation and my volunteerism over my lifetime gives me the opportunity will help me to support Farmington and keep it the vibrant community that it is.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

To listen and try to strike a balance between desires and opportunity.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Those who know me know that I am dedicated to doing the best job that I can do.
