Police Release ID of Deceased Farmington River Swimmer

The man was reportedly seen struggling in the water Wednesday evening and reported missing; Local, state police searched for the victim.

Update Thursday 10:45 a.m.:

Police have identified the victim as Michael Omagbon, 22, of Waterbury. Police didn’t release any additional information about the investigation.

The body of a swimmer who went missing early Wednesday evening in the Farmington River has been found, according to a report.

Police said the victim, a man in his 20’s, was dead when rescuers found him according to WTNH. His identity has not been released.

Emergency crews were conducting a search for a swimmer who was reported missing in the Farmington River Wednesday.

The missing man, who was swimming with a group of people when he went under, was reported missing about 5 p.m., according to NBC Connecticut.

State police personnel were called in to help search for the man who was described as being in his early 20s.

According to WFSB, a group of friends were swimming in the river near Tunxis Meade Drive and they noticed the man struggling in the water.
