Eastbury Principal Nancy Bean to Become Glastonbury High Principal
The principal of Eastbury Elementary School was chosen from 15 applicants to take the place of former GHS Principal Matthew Dunbar, who will become the district's new assistant superintendent.

principal Nancy Bean will take former principal Matthew Dunbar’s place at starting soon, after she was selected from a field of 15 applicants earlier this week.
Bean, who had been principal at Eastbury since 2010, will begin her position soon according to Superintendent Dr. Alan Bookman.

Bean began teaching in Weston as both an elementary and middle school health and physical education teacher, then moved on to Hall High School and Whiting Lane School in West Hartford. In 2006 she became assistant principal at Canton High School, before coming to Eastbury in 2010.

Bookman said Thursday that Bean had a personality that “inspires both teachers and students.”
“She has a positive attitude in all that she does that inspires others with whom she works,” Bookman said.
. A replacement principle for Eastbury has not yet been found.
