UPDATE: Driver, Pedestrian Identified from Morning Accident
Police officials say part of Route 189 was closed for several hours following the accident.

UPDATE, 4:10 p.m.
Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck as Evan Jackson, 23, of Windsor. He sustained serious, although at this time not believed to be life-threatening injuries, Capt. William Tyler said.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was Michelle Allen, 19, of Granby.

The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed, Tyler said.

Route 189 (Granville Road) has been re-opened after the investigation of a car vs. pedestrian motor vehicle accident.
At 8:51 a.m., a southbound passenger car struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway west to east. The pedestrian was with a commercial landscaping firm working at a nearby residence, Capt. William Tyler said.
The pedestrian was transported to Hartford Hospital via ground ambulance. The vehicle operator was uninjured, Tyler said.

GRANBY, CT - A portion of Granville Road (Route 189) in Granby is closed in the 200 block due to a car vs. pedestrian motor vehicle accident, Capt. William Tyler said.
A detour has been set up from Northwoods Road to Silver Street.
It is estimated that several hours will be needed for the reconstruction team to process the scene, Tyler said.
