3 More Vehicle Thefts Reported In Greenwich: PD
Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and not to leave keys or valuables inside them.

GREENWICH, CT — Less than a week after warning residents to lock their cars in light of recent thefts in town, three more vehicles were reported stolen over the weekend. Lt. John Sulsarz said each incident occurred at some point overnight between Saturday and Sunday.
The first vehicle, a 2013 BMW M3, was stolen from Tait Road. The second vehicle was a 2019 BMW 5 Series, which was stolen from Keofferam Road.
The third vehicle, a 2019 Mercedes Benz, was stolen from Indian Drive.

On Aug. 30, a 2017 Ford was stolen from a driveway on Lawrence Street. The following day, a MINI Cooper was taken from a driveway on Milbank Avenue, which police learned about after the vehicle was found wrecked on Interstate 95 in Norwalk by state police, Slusarz said.
In each incident, the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were inside the vehicle, Slusarz said.
Of the 14 vehicles that were entered, each one was unlocked and found to have been rummaged through. Miscellaneous items were stolen in these incidents, including a laptop computer, video games and loose change, Slusarz said.
"The people responsible for these crimes are generally lazy and enter unlocked cars," Slusarz said in a statement. "Despite this, it would be reasonable to believe they may break a window on a locked car to get a valuable that is left in plain sight. The best way to discourage this behavior is to lock your car, take your keys and not to leave valuables where they can be seen."
