50 MPH Winds, Rain To Whip Connecticut: Latest Updates
The weather may be calm right now but there are some big changes on the way for Connecticut. Here's the latest details.

It's not too bad out there in Connecticut currently as the skies are mostly cloudy but it's warmer than it has been lately. Unfortunately, the weather will deteriorate later this evening and during the overnight hours as rain will become steadier and winds could gust up to 60 mph in some areas of the state.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Wind Advisory for coastal sections of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties. The Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday.
The weather service states, "There is a chance that south to southwest winds ahead of an approaching strong cold front could gust as high as 60 mph late Saturday night or early Sunday morning."

Fairfield County and interior sections of Southern Connecticut are expecting to also see rain and strong wind gusts too.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Hartford and Tolland counties saying that wind gusts could approach 50 mph at times Saturday night into Sunday morning. Strong wind gusts are also possible midday Sunday into late Sunday, the weather service states.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said "It’s a cccold start out there! Clouds come in through the morning. Some spotty light rain early-mid afternoon heavier & windy tonight."
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist said Darren Sweeney said "There are MANY changes in the exclusive 10-day forecast, even a touch of winter showing up toward next weekend. First, some rain and big wind to discuss THIS weekend."
Sweeney said there is a chance for rain/snow next Saturday. Thanksgiving continues to look sunny but cold with temps around 40 degrees.

Today: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 52. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Tonight: Rain, mainly after 7pm. Temperature rising to around 55 by 5am. South wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Showers, mainly before 10am. Temperature falling to around 44 by 5pm. Breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 22 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. West wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
