Additional Human Remains Searches Planned At Binney Park In Greenwich
Members of the Greenwich Police Department have searched the park numerous times this spring and summer.

GREENWICH, CT — As scheduled dredging commences at the pond at Binney Park, Greenwich police have temporarily halted the search for human remains at the park, but police officials plan to resume search activity in the near future.
According to Police Lt. David Nemecek, authorities plan to return to the park once the dredging is completed and the pond has dried. Exactly when officers will return was not yet known.
Members of the Greenwich Police Department have made numerous trips to the park to search for evidence since the initial discovery on April 25.

"Everything still indicates that the discovery is consistent with the remains being from one person," said Nemecek.
The department has not released an exact time frame how old the skeletal remains are, only indicating that the bones "are not ancient."

"The remains could be from a few months ago to a few years ago," said Nemecek, adding that detectives have scoured past missing persons reports and various "cold cases" in the hunt for potential clues to the person's identity.
