GREENWICH, CT — The community is rallying to support a beloved Greenwich Catholic School teacher whose life has been "upended" over the past few months.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was started by Greenwich Catholic School parent Christine Keen in support of religion teacher, Mark Radzin.

"Since March, Mark’s life has been upended. His beloved wife was in a serious accident and has been hospitalized ever since. Mark, ever devoted, spends every moment outside of teaching by her side," the fundraiser description says. "Adding to this hardship, their family faces uncertainty with their living situation, which is set to change by June 30th. The mounting medical bills and the loss of his wife’s salary have placed an immense financial burden on the family."

Money from the fundraiser will help Radzin make his home wheelchair accessible, "while also offsetting the financial strain caused by medical expenses and lost income," the fundraiser notes.

"Let’s come together to show Mark and his family the same love and support he has poured into our community," Keen added.

Described as the "heart of the Praise and Worship program at Greenwich Catholic School," Radzin is a native of Milwaukee, Wis., where he earned degrees in history and architectural studies at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee respectively, his bio on the GCS website says.

Radzin eventually moved to Greenwich with his wife. The couple has three children.

After a career as an architectural professional, Radzin returned to teaching and worked in New Canaan and Wilton before coming to Greenwich Catholic School in 2016.
