Greenwich Coronavirus: 729 Residents Test Positive For Virus

Town officials also noted 42 Greenwich residents have died from the COVID-19 virus, according to the state Department of Public Health.

GREENWICH, CT — The number of Greenwich residents who have tested positive for the new coronavirus has risen to 729 as of Monday, May 11, according to Greenwich Health Department Director Caroline Baisley. That number is ten more than the 719 positive cases reported by town officials on Friday, May 8.

Town officials also noted 42 Greenwich residents have died from the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, as of Sunday, May 10, according to the state Department of Public Health.

Additionally, Greenwich Hospital reports that, as of Monday, there were 43 patients who tested positive for the virus being treated in several different units of the facility, town officials said.

So far, 451 patients have been discharged from the hospital and continue their recuperation at home. To date, 5,752 people have been tested at the hospital, with 1,786 people testing positive, town officials said.

All of these numbers reflect both patients who live in Greenwich and patients from other areas in Connecticut, as well as Westchester County, N.Y., town officials said.
