The sudden drop in temperatures and the gusty winds wreaked havoc overnight for Greenwich emergency responders.
“The high winds came in and did cause some issues in town,” Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray said Wednesday morning. “The low temperatures cause some black ice and some accidents. Fortunately, nobody was injured.”
According to Gray, the high winds knocked dozens of tree branches and limbs that became entangled in power lines, prompting the closure of several roads including Butternut Hollow, Taconic and Stanwich roads.
