Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Crash With Car: Greenwich Police

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with "life-threatening injuries," according to police. The crash is under investigation.

GREENWICH, CT — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a head-on collision with a car in the Backcountry on Nov. 8, according to Greenwich police.

On Wednesday at approximately 12:25 p.m., 911 dispatch received a call about a crash at the intersection of Round Hill Road at Close Road. All first responder agencies responded to the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation showed that a motorcycle was traveling south on Round Hill Road when the operator, who was not identified by police, lost control, crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a car heading north on Round Hill, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with "life-threatening injuries," police said. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The roadway was closed for several hours but reopened around 4 p.m., Wednesday.
