New Charges Filed in Fatal Greenwich Hit-and-Run Case: Report

Two felony charges have been added against Andrew Schmidt.

GREENWICH, CT—Two new charges were filed against Andrew Schmidt, the teen accused of a fatal hit-and-run April 17.

Schmidt has now been charged with manslaughter and first-degree assault, according to Greenwich Time.

A debate about whether Schmidt, 17, should be charged as an adult or juvenile was continued until Sept. 22, which by coincidence is Schmidt's 18th birthday.

The April 17 accident on East Putnam Avenue near Hillside Road left Edward Setterberg of Cos Cob dead. He leaves behind his wife and children.
