Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run On I-95 In Greenwich: State Police
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. Investigators are working to identify the driver of the vehicle.
GREENWICH, CT — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident on I-95 in Greenwich over the weekend, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Troopers from Troop G responded to the highway in the area of Exit 3 Southbound on May 18 at approximately 4:29 a.m. on a report of a "hazardously disabled motor vehicle," state police said, noting first responders learned while en route that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
A preliminary investigation showed that the pedestrian was standing in the left lane approximately a half mile north of Exit 3. A vehicle approached the left lane, struck the pedestrian, continued southbound and evaded the scene, state police said.

The pedestrian, who was not identified, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash left behind vehicle debris, such as a detached driver side mirror housing, front driver side bumper component and front driver side wheel trim, according to state police.
State police said the debris is "consistent with a silver or gray Ford Transit Van, ranging in model years of 2015 to 2018."

Southbound Exits 3 and 4 were closed for several hours Sunday morning.
