Police Bust the Driver in Double Fatal Crash That Killed a Cos Cob Woman

The driver who fled the crash scene was found Wednesday in Stamford; She's being held on $500K bond.

The woman who is believed to have caused the Nov. 7 crash that killed a Cos Cob woman and a Stamford man, was arrested by Stamford Police on Wednesday afternoon.

The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad has been searching for the suspect, identified as Felicia D. Burl, for several weeks.

A 2007 BMW 328xi station wagon was traveling west on West Main Street crossing the Alvord Lane junction about 8:37 p.m. Nov. 7. The operator was Anthony Andriulli, 73, of Valleywood Rd., Cos Cob, and his wife Judith Andriulli, 70, was in the front passenger seat.

A 2002 Nissan Altima sedan traveling southbound on Alvord Lane disobeyed the red traffic lights and struck the BMW on the passenger side. A passenger, Henry Nixon, 50, of Ursula Place, Stamford, was ejected onto the roadway and sustained multiple injuries. He was transported to Stamford Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

Both of the Andriullis had to be extricated from their BMW vehicle by Stamford Fire-Rescue Department. They were transported to Stamford Hospital by Stamford Emergency Medical Service ambulance and admitted to the hospital. Judith Andriulli died early Nov. 8 as a result from injuries sustained in the crash.

The operator of the Nissan fled the scene on foot. Through a thorough at scene and later forensic investigation Felicia D. Burl was identified as the operator. After much pursuit and assistance from other law enforcement agencies, this afternoon U.S. Marshals and Stamford Police officers responded to an address on Greenwood Hill Street in Stamford and took Burl into custody.

Burl, 32, who provided an address of 236 West Ave., Bridgeport, is charged with two counts each of second-degree manslaughter and felony evading responsibility, and second-degree assault She is being held on $500,000 court set bond for arrangement at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 4.

The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad was greatly assisted by S.P.D. Digital Forensic Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Narcotics and Organized Crime Units.
