Snow Emergency Remains In Effect In Greenwich

The snow emergency restricts on-street parking throughout town so crews can clear roadways.

GREENWICH, CT — The snow emergency enacted by the Board of Selectmen over the weekend remains in effect in Greenwich as the major snowstorm appears to be winding down.

The snow emergency restricts on-street parking throughout town so crews can clear roadways. Upwards of 20 inches of snow is being reported in parts of Greenwich Monday.

Residents are being reminded to not push snow into the roadway, and to not allow contractors to plow snow into streets or parking lanes. Residents should also avoid parking along the edge of roads.

"Snow placed back into the street creates hazardous conditions and forces crews to re-plow areas that have already been cleared," the town said in a Facebook post Monday afternoon.

Approximately 15,000 customers were out of power across Connecticut as of mid-day Monday, officials said, and they expect this number may increase as the day progresses.
