State Police Continue Investigation of Bus Crash that Injured Greenwich Students
Driver of the car involved in the crash that injured 6 North Mianus School students on Tuesday was cited for 2 violations.

Connecticut State Police are continuing their investigation into the Tuesday afternoon bus crash that injured some North Mianus School students who were returning home from a field trip.
Police did not release further details on Thursday but a spokesman said investigators have not completed the review of the accident. However, the driver of the car involved in the crash that occurred in Middletown as the fourth-grade students returned home from a trip to Hartford, was cited for two violations.
The 37 students and six adult chaperones were returning from a trip to the State Capitol and the coach bus they were riding in, was involved in a crash with a car on Route 91 in Middletown, about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday. The car apparently suddenly swerved in front of the bus as they approached a traffic light.

Six students were treated and released from the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for minor injuries.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Greenwich school officials said, “According to State Police, the driver of the car involved in the accident was “cited for Failure to Maintain Proper Lane ... and for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a License ... and was issued an infraction ticket. Based on preliminary reports from adults at the accident scene, we have no immediate concerns with the actions of the bus driver.

Greenwich officials also said, “We are confident that the State Police will conduct a thorough investigation.”
