Vehicle Break-Ins Reported In Pemberwick Area Of Greenwich: PD
Police said the vehicles were unlocked.

GREENWICH, CT — Two car break-ins were reported in the Pemberwick area of town on Tuesday, according to police. Lt. John Slusarz said someone entered a Ford Explorer parked on Green Lane around 3:25 a.m. and rummaged through the vehicle, taking whatever loose change they could find.
A 2013 Toyota Sienna parked on Lucy Street was also entered around 3:45 a.m. and rummaged through, though nothing was reported missing, Slusarz said.
Both vehicles were unlocked, a common factor in many of the car break-ins and thefts that have occurred in town over the past few months.

Earlier this month, police said a 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350 was stolen from Shore Road sometime overnight on Nov. 1. Slusarz said the owners reported having two sets of keys but one set was missing.
"These criminals are basically lazy," Slusarz said to Patch. "They'll come into neighborhoods early in the morning or late at night and check all the vehicles' doors, looking for cars that are unlocked."
Slusarz said criminals often look in the glove boxes of unlocked vehicles for valuables and find the keys to the vehicle. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to make sure the keys are brought inside.
