GREENWICH, CT — Police said a 2016 BMW M4 was stolen overnight Sunday on Chapel Street in Greenwich. The incident is currently under investigation.

Last week, police investigated two vehicle thefts in town, the first of which was a 2018 Audi A5. According to Lieutenant John Slusarz, the vehicle was taken from a driveway on Old Church Road sometime overnight between July 7 and 8.

The vehicle was unlocked and a set of keys were in it, Slusarz said. The vehicle was recovered in another town on July 8.

The second incident occurred Tuesday, July 9, in which a 2015 Porsche Macan was taken from the Island Beach Municipal Parking Lot sometime between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Slusarz said. In that instance, the vehicle was unlocked and the owners were unsure where the second set of keys were.

"The takeaway is that people should remember to lock their cars and take the keys with them when they park," Slusarz said in an email to Patch last week. "Unlocked cars with the keys or fobs in them are just as likely to be stolen from a private driveway as a public parking lot."
