New leader takes charge of USS Iowa (messengernews.net) — A new commanding officer has taken charge of the USS Iowa during a change-of-command ceremony held aboard the Historic Ship Nautilus at Groton's Submarine Force Museum. Cmdr. Kyle Haubold, a seasoned submariner, succeeds Cmdr. Gregory Coy and will lead the Virginia‑class fast attack submarine's crew of more than 130 as they train and deploy from the region.
