Groton residents were able to successfully petition the rejected Charter Revision Commission report onto the ballot for November.

GROTON, CT — Groton residents were able to successfully petition the rejected Charter Revision Commission report onto the ballot after it was rejected by the Town Council, the New London Day reported. It will now appear on the ballot for the Nov. 6 election later this year.

Town officials said approximately 2,199 signatures were collected by the Groton's Right to Vote group, which circulated the petition, according to the New London Day. The number of signatures was well above the 1,900 that were needed to send the report to referendum, officials said.
