Guilford BOE Looking Into IB Diploma Program
The program would be advantageous to students when applying for college.

The Guilford Board of Education is considering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for Guilford High School junior and seniors, the New Haven Register reports.
The board held a workshop on the program on Monday where all parents who attended were supportive of the program, the paper reports. Guilford High School teachers are also supportive of the program and around 68 percent have signed on to the proposal.
According to the paper, the program would be an addition to the Advanced Placement program and would allow students to earn a certificate and possible college credits. The program would cost about $10,000 a year and might lead to the addition of a half-time or a full-time teaching position.
