The Patch Voter's Guide For The Guilford 2021 Election

Here's what you need to know today about the 2021 Guilford election including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

GUILFORD, CT — Tuesday, Guilford voters go to the polls to decide who will be sworn in as members of the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, and Board of Finance.

First Selectman Matthew T. Hoey III is running unopposed. The Board of Assessment Appeals candidate Democrat Blaize Levitan is running unopposed.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters, standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.

The choices for Board of Selectman are Democrats Louis Federici and Sandra Ruoff, Republicans Susan Koch Renner and Charles Havrda and Green Party candidate Justin C. Paglino. Vote for up to two.


The choices for Board of Finance are Democrats Veronica Wallace and Amy Earls, Republicans Jeffrey T. Beatty and Jonathan Trotta, and Petitioning Candidates Nicholas Joseph Meyer and Carolyne Soper. Vote for up to three.


The choices for Board of Education are Democrats Arnold Skretta and Moira Rader, Independents Kristy Faulkner, Jennifer Baldwin and Noel G. Petra, Petitioning Candidate Joseph A. Golino and Republicans Aly Passarelli, Danielle Scarpellino, Nick Cusano, Bill Maisano and Tim Chamberlin. Vote for up to five.
