Car Window Smashed, Teen Arrested: Hamden Police
An 18-year-old was arrested on burglary charges after police say he smashed a car window with a large rock in the Hamden Mart parking lot.

HAMDEN, CT — An 18-year-old Hamden resident is accused of burglarizing a vehicle in the Hamden Mart parking lot on Monday morning. At about 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, Hamden Police responded to the Hamden Mart, 2300 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of criminal mischief, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that Myles Davis forcibly entered a parked motor vehicle. Davis used a large rock to break the window on the passenger door and subsequently entered the vehicle, according to Smith.
The owner of the vehicle reported that nothing was stolen, Smith said. The vehicle sustained more than $1,500 worth of damage in the incident. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Davis was located by police at a nearby bank and was promptly arrested and transported to police headquarters, Smith said.

Myles Davis, 18, of Mix Avenue, was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. Davis, who was detained on a $500 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 21.
