Clerk Distracts Armed Robber At Gas Station: Hamden Police
Police said the gunman ran out of the store without taking anything.
HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at Sam’s Mobil Gas Station, 3394 Whitney Ave., during the early morning hours on April 18, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
The clerk told police that a man entered the store with a gun and demanded money. The clerk briefly distracted the gunman, while attempting to grab the gun, according to Smith. The suspect then ran out of the store, northbound on Whitney Avenue.
The suspect is described as a white man who was wearing dark clothing with a “gray/white hood” that covered his face. There were no reported injuries and nothing was taken, Smith said.
