HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a 10-year-old girl reported that she has been approached by a female driver offering her a ride twice within the past month. The incidents occurred while the girl was walking to the bus stop in the Putnam Avenue area, according to police.
Hamden Police responded to Spring Glen School on Jan. 11 on the report of suspicious activity, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. Police met with the Spring Glen principal and the 10-year-old student, who said that as she was walking from her home on Putnam Avenue to the bus stop, which is located at the corner of Putnam Avenue and Clifford Street, she was approached by a female that was operating a motor vehicle.
The woman, who was described as having short hair and a “sweet voice,” asked the girl if she wanted a ride, according to Smith. The woman was operating a “small sedan.”
