Driver Extricated From Vehicle Following Crash on Whitney Avenue
The accident occurred Friday morning in Hamden.

A driver had to be extricated from a vehicle following a Friday morning accident on Whitney Avenue.
Hamden Police responded to the area of Whitney Avenue and Tuttle Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. on the report of a motor vehicle accident, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on Whitney Avenue crossed the middle of the road and struck a vehicle traveling southbound.

Smith said one of the drivers needed to be extricated and both operators were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The injured individuals are not being identified pending the notification of family.
Officer Michael Romanelli of the Hamden Police Department Traffic Division is conducting the investigation.
