Drug Dealer Arrested After Traffic Stop In Hamden: Police

Police say the suspect, who was found with crack cocaine and heroin, briefly struggled with an officer after being pulled over at 4:45 a.m.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man faces several charges after police say he was found to be in the possession of crack cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning in Hamden. The man, identified as Miguel Nonossi, is also accused of assaulting an officer, according to police.

At about 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 6, Officer Andrew Lipford observed the operator of a motor vehicle, later identified as Nonossi, commit several motor vehicle violations while traveling southbound on Dixwell Avenue, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. A motor vehicle stop was subsequently conducted.

Smith said a search of Nonossi’s vehicle led to the discovery of crack cocaine and heroin. Nonossi, who briefly struggled with police, was placed under arrest and then transported to police headquarters, according to Smith.

Nonossi, 28, of Ramsdell Street in New Haven, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, assault on a police officer, interfering with a police officer, operating under suspension, unsafe turn, failure to use signal and failure to obey stop sign.

Nonossi, who was detained on a $50,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court.
