Five Displaced After Hamden House Fire
The origin and cause of this fire is under investigation by the Hamden Fire Marshal's Office.
HAMDEN, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a residence late Friday night.
The Hamden Fire Department was dispatched at 11:30 p.m. to 2650 Dixwell Avenue, and arrived four minutes later, according to a Facebook post.
First responders found smoke visible from the second floor of the home. Firefighters stretched lines and found a "well involved" bedroom fire, according to the report.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the situation brought under control at 11:40, as determined by Battalion Chief John Spencer. There were no injuries reported, but the home will be uninhabitable until restoration repairs are made, according to the fire company.
Five people, from three families, have been displaced due to the effects of the heat and smoke damage in the house. They are being assisted by the Red Cross of Connecticut.
