Four Juveniles Arrested After Stealing Vehicle, Eluding Police
The four Hamden juveniles were found hiding in the back yards of local residents after fleeing the vehicle they had stolen earlier.

HAMDEN, CT — Four Hamden juveniles were arrested early Thursday morning after Hamden Police responded to a call of a vehicle traveling recklessly. The vehicle, police discovered, had been reported stolen earlier from a residence on Fernwood Road. Following the call, officers were able to locate the vehicle before they witnessed the four juveniles exit the vehicle and flee on foot, police said Friday.
With the assistance of Officer Kelley Cushman’s K-9 partner, “Sar”, officers located the four juveniles hiding in the back yards of homes located on Miles Street and Victor Street. Further investigation determined the vehicle to be stolen. The four juveniles were arrested and charged with third-degree larceny, and intent to commit larceny in the third-degree. They were also charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass.
All four juveniles were released to their parents and are scheduled to appear in juvenile court at a later time, police said.
