Hamden Man Displayed Gun At Driver During Road-Rage Incident On I-91: State Police
The man told police the other driver cut him off and he almost lost control of his vehicle.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Hamden man is accused of displaying a gun at another motorist during a road-rage incident on I-91 in Wallingford on Tuesday, according to Connecticut State Police. At about 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 15, Troop I was dispatched to a road-rage incident that occurred near Exit 13 on I-91 South in Wallingford.
Robert LaPorta, 33, of Hamden, is accused of displaying a handgun at another operator. LaPorta told police that the other vehicle had changed lanes and cut him off, according to the police report. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
LaPorta told police that when he changed lanes into the center lane, the other vehicle did the same and caused him to swerve and almost lose control of his vehicle.

LaPorta said the other driver waited for him to catch up and that is when he displayed his gun, according to police.
LaPorta was arrested on charges of second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. He was issued a $2,500 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 25.
