Hamden Opens Cooling Stations

Temps are expected to exceed 90 degrees over the next couple of days. BREAKING

HAMDEN, CT – Due to the extreme heat forecast, Mayor Curt Leng is reminding residents that all public buildings, including libraries and fire stations, are air-conditioned and open to the public during regular business hours.

Some of the buildings are also open evening hours – and weekends.

Locations such as the Government Center, Keefe Center, Police Department, Miller Library Complex have been designated cooling stations and will have water available to those in need.

The cooling stations are meant for temporary respite from the heat, especially for the elderly and those with respiratory issues.
