Hamden Police Charge Man with Burglary at Car Rental Company
The suspect eluded police following a foot chase last summer, but was arrested on a warrant following an investigation.

Hamden police have charged a Canterbury man for the burglary at Cheap Auto Rental on Dixwell Avenue last summer.
Marion Mershon, 39, was arrested April 7 on a warrant for the August 10, 2014 crime.
Police said on that day Officer Scott Jason heard an alarm sounding from the area of Cheap Auto Rental, 1110 Dixwell Avenue, and as he approached the building, Jason observed a white male fleeing on foot.

A foot pursuit followed, however, the individual eluded arrest.
Police said investigation revealed that the suspect forced entry through a garage window and once inside he stole an undisclosed amount of money from a cash box.

Detective John Inglese assumed the investigation and subsequently submitted an arrest warrant for Mershon.
Mershon was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $25,000 bond and was arraigned at Meriden Superior Court on April 7.
