Hamden Police Investigating Another Armed Robbery of a Pizza Delivery Driver
The robbery occurred Tuesday night and another one was attempted earlier in the evening.

Hamden police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver on the same day there was an attempted robbery of another driver elsewhere in town.
A Pianca Pizza driver responded to a Helen Street address to make a delivery at about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release. The driver was subsequently approached by two individuals with handguns, who were described as black males, wearing bandannas. The individuals subsequently stole an undisclosed amount of money from the delivery driver.
The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Donald Remillard at (203) 230-4040.

Earlier in the night, at about 8 p.m., Hamden police responded to Manila Avenue on the report of an attempted robbery of a Legend Pizza delivery driver.
Investigation revealed that the driver was making a delivery to a Manila Avenue address, when he was approached by two individuals.

While the deliveryman was seated inside of his vehicle, one of the individuals pointed a gun at his head. Smith said the individual threatened to shoot him if he did not relinquish his car. The deliveryman attempted to disarm the individual, before safely driving away.
One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic male, 18 to 20 years of age, who was wearing dark clothing. The second suspect, who was wearing a mask, was clad in dark clothing.
There has been a recent string of delivery drivers being robbed at gunpoint in Hamden.
A Domino’s pizza driver was robbed at gunpoint after making a delivery to Quinnipiac University on Dec. 9. In that case police said a 25-year-old deliveryman had delivered a pizza to an individual at the York Hill Campus and as he was exiting the driveway, he observed a female screaming for help.
When he went to help the female, the driver was approached by a black male, who was dressed in black, who pointed a gun at his head and demanded his personal belongings, according to police.
The delivery driver was struck three times in the head with the gun, before stealing his money, cell phone and car keys. The woman who called for help then left with the suspect.
A China Wok delivery man was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night (Dec. 14). The suspects in that case were described as a Hispanic male, 5-feet, 6-inches tall, and a second individual, who was described as a male, 5-11 and wearing a mask.
