Hamden Resident Finds Burglar in Home, Police Apprehend Suspect After He Broke into a Second Residence

The suspect fled from the scene and was arrested after police found him hiding on the second floor of the second home he broke into.

Hamden police charged a West Haven man with breaking into two homes on Tuesday afternoon after an Augur Street resident found him inside of her house.

Hamden police responded to the home at about 3:45 p.m. on the report of a burglary-in-progress, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.

While officers were en route, they were advised that the suspect fled on foot on Augur Street and was heading toward Newhall Street.
