UPDATE: North Haven Resident Found Pedestrian's Body Hours After Police Searched Scene
A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday night on Clintonville Road.

A North Haven resident found the body of a deceased pedestrian near a driveway early Wednesday morning, hours after police had conducted a search of the area.
Police said the victim was a 50-year-old North Haven resident, whose identity hasn’t been released.
North Haven police received a 911 call from a motorist around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, reporting that they may have struck something on Clintonville Road while traveling westbound, according to a press release.

Officers responded and met with the driver, whose identity is not being released at this time. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area where the motorist reported impact but nothing was located.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was subsequently released from the scene prior to midnight.

Then, just after sunrise Wednesday morning, a neighborhood resident reported seeing what appeared to be a body lying off the roadway adjacent to a residential driveway on Clintonville Road near Pool Road, according to police.
Police responded and located the victim, who was found clad in black clothing and had suffered traumatic injuries.
The South Central Regional Traffic Unit is actively investigating the incident.
