Juvenile Hospitalized After Shooting In Hamden: Police

Police said several suspects entered a residential driveway and fired several rounds into an occupied home, and then fled the area.

HAMDEN, CT — A juvenile was hospitalized after a shooting Wednesday night in Hamden, according to police.

Police responded around 8:50 p.m. on Jan. 21 to the report of gunfire in the Bowen Street area, according to Lt. Robert Manfield.

Manfield said arriving officers found a juvenile male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs. The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment and was listed in stable condition, as of Thursday morning, according to Manfield.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that multiple unknown individuals entered a residential driveway in the area and fired several rounds into a residence that was occupied at the time,” Manfield wrote in a news release. “The suspects then fled the area.

“Members of the Hamden Police Department Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, and detectives are actively investigating this incident. There is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time.”
