K-9 Catches Car Burglars Hiding On Wall: Hamden Police
Two teens, who police say were burglarizing unlocked cars overnight in Hamden, were found hiding on top of a cement wall by K-9 Maverick.

HAMDEN, CT — Two teens accused of burglarizing vehicles during the overnight hours on Sunday were located by Hamden K-9 Maverick hiding on top of a cement wall, according to police. At about 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 4, Hamden Police responded to Leeder Hill Drive on the report of two males “going through unlocked cars,” according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Moments later, Officer Peter Conti and his K-9 partner Maverick located evidence and began a track. Conti and Maverick tracked across the street into a heavily wooded area. The track led to a large cement wall, according to Smith.
Smith said Conti subsequently lifted Maverick onto to the top of the wall, where the two suspects were located.
