Man, 19, Charged with Car Burglary in Hamden: Police

The man was also arrested for stealing a car earlier this summer.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man was arrested in connection to a car burglary on Pine Rock Avenue earlier this summer.

Police responded to the reported theft on June 27 and investigation revealed that Malik Hanna forcibly entered a parked motor vehicle and stole several personal items, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said Officer Rachel Zinni, who collaborated with other Hamden Police Officers, determined that Hanna was responsible.

Hanna, 19, of Gorham Avenue, was arrested on a warrant on Sept. 21 and charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was detained on a court-ordered $10,000 bond and was arraigned later in the day.

Hanna was previously arrested and charged with stealing a car on June 26 and was apprehended following a foot chase.

He was sentenced to one year in jail, suspended after 11 months, in connection to that case on Aug. 15, according to the court docket.
