Missing 80-Year-Old Man Found Safe: Hamden Police (UPDATE)

A Silver Alert has been issued for the 80-year-old man.

UPDATE: John Reed was found in New Haven and is home safe, Hamden Police said in an update around 1:40 a.m.

HAMDEN, CT — A Silver Alert has been issued for John Reed, 80, who was reported missing from Hamden on Dec. 3.

Reed is described by police as a white male, clean shaven, with white hair and brown eyes. He is 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs 132 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black/cream wool hat, black jacket, cream-colored pants and black sneakers.

Reed was last seen around 4 p.m. in the area of the Hamden Plaza and Mart, 2100 Dixwell Avenue. He is reported to have dementia and tends to wander, according to police.
