Man Arrested On Gun Charges After Traffic Stop: Hamden Police
The man faces several charges after going through a red light, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested on gun charges after a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Hamden, according to police.
Officer Keron Bryce saw a driver go through a red light at the intersection of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street around 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 14. He conducted a traffic stop on Dixwell Avenue in the area of Putnam Avenue, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and Bryce found a loaded 9 mm handgun that contained a magazine with 13 bullets, according to Smith. The driver, Jonathan Richardson, was also found to be in violation of a protective order, Smith said.

Richardson, 36, of Maple Street, was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal violation of a protective order and interfering with a police officer. He was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Nov. 16.
