Man Burglarized Apartment In Hamden: Police

The suspect is accused of stealing several items, including a camera and a blow dryer, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was arrested Monday in connection to a December burglary in which police say he stole several items, including a camera and a blow dryer, from an apartment in Hamden. Police responded to a Third Street residence on Dec. 3 on the report of a burglary, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that Gregory Edmonds had forcibly entered a basement apartment. Once inside, Edmonds is accused of stealing several items, including a camera and a blow dryer. The stolen items are valued at $163, according to Smith.

Officer Rachel Zinni conducted an investigation that led to the application of an arrest warrant for Edmonds, which was approved by the court. Edmonds was arrested Jan. 8 at his Third Street residence.

Edmonds, 48, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was detained on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 19.
