Man Burglarized Business, Stole Truck: Hamden Police

Police say the suspect forcibly entered the business and stole keys to a motor vehicle and power tools.

HAMDEN, CT — An East Hartford man is accused of burglarizing a local business and stealing a truck and power tools, according to police. On Aug. 5, Hamden Police responded to JLS Paving, located at 29 Tabor Street, on the report of a burglary, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said investigation revealed that the business was forcibly entered through a side door. Once inside, keys to a motor vehicle and power tools were stolen. Smith said the keys were used to steal a truck that was parked nearby.

Detective Brian Stewart conducted an investigation, which led the application of an arrest warrant for Edwin Doss.

Doss was arrested on Aug. 21 in Hartford and transported to the Hamden Police Department.

Doss, 34, of Clement Road in East Hartford, was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny. Doss, who was detained on a $10,000 court-ordered bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 5.
