Man Charged With Burglarizing Gas Station In Hamden: Police
The man was arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — A man accused of burglarizing a gas station in Hamden last October was arrested after a traffic stop, according to police. The burglary occurred at the Shell Food Mart/Gas Station, located at 3050 Whitney Avenue, on Oct. 9, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that “forced entry was gained through the front door.” Once inside, cash drawers were “rummaged through” and the owner reported that “small change” was stolen, according to Smith.
Det. Sean Dolan conducted the investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Andre Williams. 0n Jan. 16, Officer William May conducted a motor vehicle stop in the vicinity of Dixwell Avenue and North Street and the operator of the vehicle, Williams, was promptly arrested on the strength of the arrest warrant, according to Smith.

Williams, 19, of Cedar Hill Avenue in New Haven, was charged with third-degree burglary. He was detained on a court-ordered $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 31.
