Man ‘Grabbed’ Woman, Threw Her Into Bushes: Hamden Police
The woman told police she was approached by a man while she was walking on the street.
HAMDEN, CT — A man is accused of grabbing a woman from behind and pushing her into bushes Thursday afternoon in Hamden, according to police.
Officer Timothy McKeon was “flagged down” by a 30-year-old woman around 12:30 p.m. on Armory Street. She said she was the victim of an attempted assault, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
The woman told police she was walking on Armory Street when she was approached by a man who tried to engage her in a conversation. She said the man, who was later identified as Ricky Bynum, “grabbed” her from behind, picked her up and “pushed” her into nearby bushes, according to Smith.

She screamed and Bynum ran away toward his vehicle, Smith said.
Bynum, 30, was later arrested at his home on Newbury Street in Hamden. He was charged with second-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree breach of peace. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19.
