Man Made $6.6K In Fraudulent Purchases At Apple Stores: Hamden PD

Police are searching for a suspect they say used a stolen credit card to buy more than $6K worth of items from Apple stores in Connecticut.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect accused of making $6,655 worth of fraudulent purchases with a stolen credit card at numerous Apple stores in Connecticut.

Hamden Police responded to a Thornton Street residence on Dec. 17 on a report of a larceny in which the victim said he lost his credit card. The victim told police that he either misplaced his credit card at a local restaurant or it was stolen at a local gym, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the credit card was subsequently used at numerous “Apple Stores” in Connecticut and the fraudulent purchases total $6,655.

Hamden Police obtained several photographs of the suspect. He is described as a white male, in his 50s to 60s, with a heavy build, white mustache, and wearing eyeglasses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer William May at (203) 230-4030.
