Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Trafficking Of 3 Teens At Hotel In Hamden: Feds
The man was charged with advertising the girls' services through Backpage.com and taking them to various hotels in Connecticut.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man accused of sex trafficking three teenage girls over a two-year period while using the website Backpage.com to advertise their services has pleaded guilty to a federal charge, according to authorities. Carlen Davis, 36, waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of sex trafficking of a minor, U.S. States Attorney Deirdre M. Daly announced.
At various time between late 2014 and November 2016, Davis “recruited harbored and transported three females, who at the time were 14, 15 and 16 years old, to engage in commercial acts,” Daly wrote in a press release.
Daly said Davis used the website Backpage.com to “advertise the minor victims’ services, and he transported the girls to various Connecticut hotels, including hotels in Meriden, Milford and Hamden, where they engaged in prostitution.”

Davis has been detained since his arrest on related state charges on Dec. 9, 2016.
Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 14 at which time he faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life, according to Daly. Davis also has agreed to pay restitution to the minor victims.
