HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man has been arrested in connection to a street robbery that occurred five years ago in Hamden. The man is accused of pushing a 63-year-old woman and stealing her purse during the robbery. Lynn Numan, who investigators say may have been living out of state for the past five years, was arrested on a warrant Thursday for the 2013 incident, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said that on Jan. 29, 2013, Hamden Police responded to a Morse Street residence on the report of a street robbery. Investigation revealed that the victim was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by Numan, who said “Give me the bags,” according to Smith. Numan then grabbed the woman’s shoulders and pushed her, Smith said.
Numan stole the victim’s purse, which contained money and credit cards, according to Smith. Detective Brian Stewart conducted an extensive investigation that led to an arrest warrant for Numan.
